Northeast
Sparks - With its population just over 24,000
this area is rapidly expanding. The area is attractive to new
families, because of the newer schools and the pride of community.
New housing developments, new golf courses, new shopping centers
and the always developing job market have made this one of the
fastest growing areas in Sparks. The schools in the area are Spanish
Springs High, Mendive Middle, Sparks Middle and several elementary
schools. map
Sparks
- Known as the Rail City has done much to improve its image and
appearance over the last 15 years. The downtown corridor features
a Victorian theme and host many special events such as a farmers
market in the summer months, and rib cook off. The schools in the
area are Reed High, Sparks High, Dilworth Middle, Mendive Middle
and Sparks Middle. There are also several elementary schools. map
North
Valleys - This area of Reno includes Panther, Sun,
Golden and Lemmon Valleys as well as Stead, Cold Springs, Silver
Knolls and Red Rock. The Stead Airport is home to the annual National
Championship Air Races, a great event for all ages. This area has
seen much growth, as have other areas in Northern Nevada. Industrial
and distribution operations have relocated to the North Valleys,
which has created hundreds of jobs. The area is dotted with new
parks, new or remodeled shopping centers, and plenty of new homes.
Schools in this area are North Valley’s High, O’Brien
Middle School and numerous elementary schools. map
North
Reno -The University of Nevada is in the heart of
North Reno. Many say these areas capture the essence of “Old
Reno.” This area is mixed with long time residents, college
students, and families. Many of the neighborhoods in the area are
being refurbished to enhance the community. Schools in this area
are Hug High, TMCC High School, Trainer Middle, and numerous elementary

Northwest
Reno - Northwest Reno is divided by McCarran Blvd.
East of McCarran is known as Old Northwest and West of McCarran
is the New Northwest. Just as the name states Old Northwest consists
of well established neighborhoods, filled with families and singles,
both young and old. This area is close to downtown, the University
of Nevada, Reno, and the freeway. Schools in this area are McQueen
High, Clayton Middle, and numerous elementary schools. New Northwest
Reno or as some would call it “New House Central,” is
a desirable area to live in Reno, because of the newer houses, good
schools, nice parks and walking trails, plenty of choices for grocery
shopping and easy access to other area of Reno. Walking trails run
through the Northwest, allowing residents to get outside and smell
the fresh air. Schools in this area are McQueen High, Billinghurst
Middle, and numerous elementary schools. map
Southwest
Reno - Homes in this well established area of Reno
vary from planned communities to spacious ranch homes to older homes
with much character. Hiking and walking paths allow families to
take those much need walks on the wonderful summer nights. Southwest
Reno is known for its established neighborhoods and good schools,
making it a very desirable place to live. Schools in this area are
Reno High, Opportunity School, Swope Middle, and several elementary

South
Reno - This is a great area for the growing family
or the individual that wants to know his neighbor. Made up of the
established neighborhoods of Donner Spring and Huffaker Hills and
the newer Double Diamond, Rosewood Lakes and Galena areas, there
is something for everyone in South Reno. Many new schools and new
shopping centers have added to the appeal of the area and there
is still more to come. Schools in this area are Galena High, Damonte
High, Wooster High, the Regional Technical Institute, Pine Middle
and several elementary schools. map |
